Rallye of Montecarlo
This January the Automobile Club de Monaco will be celebrating the 10th Historic Monte-Carlo Rally.

The first rally was held from 15 to 18 January 1988, over a selection of routes run by earlier Monte-Carlo Rallies - the number of participants was capped at 60.

The race quickly became a hit and is now considered by drivers as the number one winter historic road race. It attracts increasing numbers of amateurs and former Monte-Carlo Rally drivers, keen to experience the legendary circuit for themselves. Race applications received by the Automobile Club de Monaco are surpassing all expectations - so a selection committee has been set up to choose the 300 or so cars authorised to set off from the Concentration Stages.

The rally´s success is no doubt due to the unique combination of stages and regularity tests and the care and attention brought by the ACM to the running of this event - the same organisational skills used in the Rallye Automobile Monte-Carlo, the opening race in the FIA World Rally Championship.

The organisers have devised an exceptional programme for this 10th edition, which takes place from 25 to 31 January 2007. In addition to the usual stages, there will be a race on the Serre Chevalier ice circuit, on Monday 29 January, after the Valence - Briançon half-stage and, for the first time ever, on Tuesday at 8:00 pm, as a curtain-raiser for the final Monaco-Monaco stage, a race on the lower part of the F1 circuit, identical to that raced by the 2007 RAMC drivers a few days earlier.
